Born in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Henry Elmer Harris, Sr. and Lillian Page Harris. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Carolyn Booth Harris, a sister, Elizabeth Ogden, and a daughter Patty Harris. Henry was a Navy veteran and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from UVA where he was a member of Omicron Kappa Delta Society and the Raven Society. He was a retired Process Control Supervisor for Union Camp Corporation. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 39 years, Carolyn Hodge Harris; two daughters, Sandra Hutchings (Bill) of Durham, NC and Barbara Burton (Jeff) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; three step-sons, David Thompson of Richmond, Gary Thompson (Melonie) of Williamsburg, and Stephen Thompson (Phil) of Austin, TX; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and two nieces.
