Obituary of Stephen Allen Hines 23 FEB 1884 - 27 APR 1962 ZUNI—Stephen Allen Hines, 78, retired farmer of Isle of Wight County, died Friday afternoon [27 Apr 1962] in a Franklin hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Beulah Carr Hines and a son of John and Mrs. Martha Thorne Hines of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, its Men's Bible Class, and Woodmen of the World Lodge 186 of Walters. Surviving, besides his widow, are a daughter, Miss Mary Lou Hines of Zuni; a foster daughter, Mrs. Estelle Coggin of Windsor; a foster son, Willie Spivey of Norfolk; and a brother, Ernest R. Hines of Carrsville. A funeral service will be held Monday [30 Apr 1962] at 2:30 p.m. in Holland Funeral Chapel, Franklin, by the Rev. Donald E. Trump of Colosse Baptist Church and the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton Jr. of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Burial will be in Colosse Cemetery.
