Born in Carrsville, Va., he came here 29 years ago from Atlanta, where he was retired after 30 years as a comptroller for Grand Union. He was a Methodist. Survivors include two sons, Edward III, Panama City, and Dennis, Cummings, Ga.; two daughters, Pat Ashworth, Atlanta, and Cathy Holland, New Port Richey; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
