Edgar Hubert Horton, Jr. 

Portsmouth - Edgar "Hunker" Hubert Horton, 81, died peacefully Sunday, March 4, 2018 surrounded by loving family and friends. He leaves behind to treasure his memory his wife, Barbara (Doughtie) Horton; his children Kimberly Jones, Robbie Horton and his wife Kelli, and Brad Horton; his beloved grandchildren Jonathan Ramirez, Lindsey Horton, Nicholas Horton, Ryan Horton and Brady Horton; a sister, Martha Wells; countless cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his sweet Chocolate Lab, Lily Gayle. 

Hunker was a lifelong resident of Portsmouth, Virginia and retired telephone technician. He was an avid Notre Dame fan, beloved little league coach and devoted "Gagy. "The family would like to express their immeasurable gratitude to all of the nurses from the 6th floor Oncology Unit at Norfolk Sentara Hospital for their compassionate care and loving hearts. Thanks also to the amazing doctors in the Sentara network and a special thank-you to Dr. Ronald Atwood for the years of incredible care and friendship. 

The family will receive friends at 1:00p. m., March 8, at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Ln., Suffolk. The funeral service will be held immediately after, at 2:00p. m. A private family burial will be at a later date. Condolences may be registered at BWFosterFuneralHome.com.
