James Rawlston Howell - Funeral services for Mr. Howell, 73, husband of the late Mrs. Robert Brisco Howell of 806 Washington Street, who died Monday 11 May 1953 at 9 a.m. at a local hospital, were conducted yesterday 13 May 1953 at 3 p.m. at the graveside in the family burial ground near Roduco, Gates County, N.C., with the Rev. Leo P. Creamer, assistant pastor of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Portsmouth, officiating.  

Pallbearers were Robert J. Harrell, Hugh M. Harrell, Wallace T. Harrell, Hallett H. Knight, Mills Howell and Leo Sheldon.
