Joy James Obituary Joy Lee James, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Andrew T. Johnson and Frances G. Johnson. Mrs. James was a member of Hyde Park Freewill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, who had many talents, such as, cooking, sewing and stained glass. Joy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Frank L. James, Jr. ; daughters, Debra J. Johnston (Frank A. ) and Ashley L. Doyle (Jarrod) both of Suffolk, VA, and a son Frank L. James III (Marie) of Manassas, VA, along with six grandchildren. She is predeceased by a son, David A. James. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 1 PM in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Trueblood officiating, visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow afterwards at Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
