A native of Carrsville, he was a son of Joseph I and Mrs Elizabeth Carr Johnson and the husband of Mrs Dorothy Burrows Johnson. He was a member of Taylor Road Baptist Church and a retired Norfolk Naval Shipyard crane operator. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs William Jordan of Portsmouth, Mrs Shirley Parker of Norfolk, and Mrs E Louis Norvell of Delaware Ohio; a stepdaughter, Mrs James Reagan of Chester Pa; a stepson, Dr John Bizendine of Richmond; a sister, Miss Hattie Johnson of Deep Creek; and 15 grandchildren.
