Johnson, a graduate of Wilson High School, Long Beach City College and USC, was attending the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey when he was stricken.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; a son, Craig Walter; a daughter, Roberta Marie, and his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Eldridge.
