Dan B. Jones 24 Jun 1941 - 1 Jan 2004 NORFOLK – Dan B. ‘Danny’ Jones, 62, passed away Jan. 1, 2004, at his home. He was a lifelong Tidewater resident. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of honorable service to his country. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen H. Jones. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David H. and Kristi Jones of Indianapolis, Ind.; his daughter and son-in-law, Debra L. and Stanley Newsom of Maryville, Tenn.; his mother, Marjorie A. Jones of Newport News; as well as six grandchildren, David, Gregory, Kara, Chloe, Mollie, and Madeline. He will be buried at sea with United States Navy Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 500 E. Plume St. Norfolk, VA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
