Clifton Henry Joyner 27 DEC 1897 - 9 MAY 1960 WALTERS - Clifton H. Joyner, 62, rural mail carrier of this community for at least 20 years, died unexpectedly at his home Monday afternoon. He was eligible for retirement and tendered his resignation last Saturday to the Post Office Department. Son of Richard H. and Sallie Holland Joyner, he was a lifelong resident here. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Blackwater Masonic Lodge 134 of Zuni and the Walters Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Blanche Butler Joyner; two sons, James E. Joyner of Walters and Claude Russell Joyner of Carrsville; a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice J. Vaughan of Walters, and six grandchildren. The body was taken to W. J. M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery.
