Joyner, a prominent citizen of Southampton county, died at his home at Burdette, Va., Monday night at 11 o'clock, at the age of 68 years. Mr. Joyner'8 illness was of short duration, he having sustained a stroke of paralysis on Friday night last and never regained consciousness. Besides a widow, who was before her marriage Miss Mary Elizabeth Wills, a former resident of Portsmouth, he leaves two daughters, Misses Blanche and Mamie Joyner of Burdette, and one son, C. T. Joyner, of this city, The funeral service will take place from the Black Creek Baptist church this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
