Robert P. Lambert Jr. 7 Aug 1923 - 15 Jun 2013 Norfolk - Robert Preston Lambert, Jr., 89, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Throughout his life and in his last days, he was surrounded by his sons and loved ones. Born in Norfolk, he lived most of his life in the Winona and Lakewood sections of the city, while farming in the Fentress area of Chesapeake. Robert "Bob" was a member of a prominent Norfolk County family long known in agricultural circles. Many areas of Norfolk and Princess Anne counties, now largely residential and shopping centers, were once Lambert Farms. He was the son of the late Robert P. Lambert, Sr. and Sophie Owens Lambert and the widower of Patricia Langley Lambert. He was also predeceased in death by his sister, Miriam L. Denson. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Norfolk where he served as a Trustee and Head Usher for many years, a member of the Khedive Shriners where he earned a 32nd degree, and a member of the Harbor Club. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Joe and his wife JoAnn, Brian and his wife Ann, Billy and his wife April, and Allan and his wife Becky; and grandchildren, Matt, Kevin, Nathan, Peyton, Will, Reilly, Preston, Duncan, and Colby. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. John F. Shappell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
