Mrs. Thrift, a Methodist, retired from Portsmouth Police Department; she was a school guard. Survived by her husband, Frank K. Thrift Jr.; three daughters, Linda Miller of Norfolk, Susan Porter of Virginia Beach, and Martha Holland of Portsmouth; two sons, Frank K. Thrift III of York County and Stephen A. Thrift of Plano, Texas; a sister, Louise Edwards of Smithfield; two brothers, Carter A. Moore of Smithfield and Charles Sam Moore of Hampton; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
