Morgan was a retired vice president for Shirley Construction Company and was a member of Sedley Baptist Church where he was a trustee, former deacon and Men s Bible Class teacher. He was a former 35-year member of the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department, a former member of the Sedley Ruritan Club and also a former Zone II Governor and an active member of Gideon International. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Halsey Munford; a daughter, Teresa Munford of Williamsburg; a son Morgan Alex Munford and his wife, Elisabeth of Purcellville; two grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Munford; three step-grandchildren, Christian, Nathan, and Joshua Thompson; a brother, Moody E. Munford of Suffolk; two nephews, Al and Steve Munford; and three brothers-in-law, David, Bill, and Jerry Halsey. A funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday, February 28, at Sedley Baptist Church with the Rev. James Foreman officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.
