**Thomas K. Purdie, 85, Dies in isle of Wight**  
Thomas K. Purdie, aged 85, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. W. Horne, near Smithfield Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Mr. Purdie is survived by his widow, Mrs. M. J. Purdie, and six children, Mrs. J. T. Mann, of Petersburg; Mrs. A. W. Horne, of Smithfield; Mrs. J. W. Home, of Smithfield; the Rev. W. T. Purdie, of Petersburg; and L. J. Purdie, of Smithfield; also eleven grandchildren and a brother, George R. Purdie of Newport News. Funeral services for Mr. Purdie were held at Whitehead's Grove Baptist church this afternoon at 3 o'clock.
