Janice Reames Obituary Janice Turner Reames January 25, 1950 - March 3, 2024 Boykins - Janice Marie Turner Reames, 74, passed away March 3, 2024 in Courtland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, NC, she was the youngest of ten children born to the late James Oscar Turner and Helen Parks Turner. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Henry Wayne Reames and his parents, Gladys and Ruth Reames. Janice was a graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School and of Mitchell’s Beauty Academy. She was a retired Special Education Para professional, car and bus driver, custodian, and cafeteria staff for Southampton County Public Schools for 26 years, retiring in 2016. Janice loved working with all of the children and considered them her own. She was a member of the Tarrara Woman’s Club and the Branchville Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Kristie Marie Reames Ward and Kelly Ruth Reames Jarratt (Michael); four grandchildren, Brandon Ward and Cole, Kelsey, and Camden Jarratt; a brother-in-law, Bobby Reames; and family. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 7, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home in Franklin with Pastor Michael Baugham officiating. The burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Boykins Vol. Fire and Rescue.
