Clarence was born in Detroit, Michigan, on 15 May 1940, grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and lived in Fincastle for the last 22 years. He was the son of the late Bennett Milnor and Catherine Connelly Renshaw. Clarence was a news journalist and worked in public relations for more than 50 years. Most recently, he was employed with Rader Funeral Home. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and a former member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Botetourt County. Clarence proudly served in the United States Army, was a graduate of OCS Class 4-65, and was deployed during the Vietnam Era from January 1966 to January 1967. He was president of the West Point Society of Southwest Virginia and served as a West Point Admissions Field Representative for more than twelve years. Clarence was responsible for assisting and mentoring more than 20 young people as they enrolled and received their appointments to West Point Military Academy. As a journalist, he traveled all over the world and in his leisure enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Europe. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, Bennett Milnor Renshaw Jr.; sister, Marianne Renshaw Hynd; and an infant sister, Katheryn Renshaw. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Evelyn Darden Renshaw; sons Robert Milnor and Alisha Renshaw; Justin William Randall and Lynne Renshaw; daughters Tisha Renshaw and Deborah M.D. Miller of Elton, Maryland; grandchildren Carolyn, Beverly, Emerson, and Catherine Renshaw; Jacob and Heather Miller; nephews Bennett Renshaw, Steven Renshaw, Paul Renshaw, and Martin Renshaw; and several close cousins.
