Obituary of Wilber Clinton Rose Sr 13 Oct 1892 - 7 Mar 1949 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wilbur Clinton Rose, Sr., 58, of 730 Park Avenue, died yesterday at 9:30 a. m. at a Norfolk hospital after an illness of one year. He was a native of Isle of Wight County, and had made his home in this section 26 years. He was a son of the late James and Mrs. Boshie Ann Daughtrie Rose and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susie Jones Rose; five daughters, Mrs. Edward E. Springer, Mrs. Edgar M. Morgan, Mrs. Gracie F. Deyncourt, Mrs. Thomas Hardy, and Mrs. Hugh Taylor; three sons, Wilbur Clinton Rose, Jr., William M. Rose, and Ernest Calvin Rose, all of Norfolk; one sister, Mrs. J. R. Little, of Suffolk; two brothers, C. F. and Scott Rose, of Suffolk, and six grandchildren. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Suffolk. The body was taken to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p. m. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
