John E. Savino, 50, of Manchester, beloved husband of Mary L. (Griggs) Savino, died unexpectedly Friday (February 4, 2000) in Manchester. Born in Manchester February 19, 1949, son of Frank and Olga (Brozowski) Savino of Manchester, he was a lifelong resident, attending local schools, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Navy aboard the destroyer USS Dewey. John had been employed by Hamilton Sundstrand of Windsor Locks, formerly Hamilton Standard, for over twenty five years, and was a member of the Manchester Army Navy Club and the American Legion Post in Enfield. John was also a former coach for his son's Manchester Little League team, and was an avid supporter of the Manchester High School Boys Cross Country Team. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Adam Savino at home; two sisters, Jo Ann Lerner and brother in law Earle, Denise Voog and brother in law Aaron, both of Manchester; two brothers, Francis Savino and sister in law Christine, and Joseph Savino and sister in law Joanie, of Manchester; two nephews, Frank Savino and Ryan Lerner, and three nieces, Karen Savino, Christina Battles, and Meghan Lerner.
