James Sharrett Obituary James Herbert Sharrett, 81, beloved husband, father, and brother, died peacefully in his home on October 15, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born in Portsmouth to the late John Sharrett, Sr., and Elizabeth Tierney Sharrett. Herbert graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1955 and from Virginia Tech as a mechanical engineer in 1959. He was the owner of Commonwealth Lighting Associates and a past president, and longtime member, of the Ambassador Club. Herbert was a member of Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club; he was an avid golfer and sports fan. Herbert is survived by his wife, Anita Benton Sharrett; five children, Kevin Sharrett (Clemelda), Brian Sharrett (Cathy), Kelly Sharrett Davis (Brian), Shawn Sharrett (Rachel), and Stacy Sharrett Pascarosa; three sisters, Barbara Silvertson, Mary Virginia Ramsey, and Patricia Calderazzi; and eleven grandchildren.
