Death of Gen. Shands  

Gen. Wm. B. Shands, an aged and honored citizen of this town, died at his residence here Tuesday night [18 Jul 1906]. Gen. Shands has been sick for a considerable time and his death was not unexpected, but his family and friends are nevertheless greatly grieved at his demise. His remains will be buried Thursday afternoon [20 Jul 1906] in the Riverside Cemetery at this place.
