The son of John Charles Taylor and Marjorie Maryscuk, he spent most of his life in New York and Connecticut. He retired to Hampton Roads, Virginia in 2017. John was an Operational Engineer for 30+ years, spending the majority of his working life employed by Canterbury Green, in Stamford, CT. After retirement, he moved to a farm in Suffolk, VA. There he spent happy hours tending to livestock, repairs, and groundskeeping. A true champion of the blue collar - John enjoyed working, tinkering, and fixing machinery, dwellings, and furniture. A prolific writer, John had a deep love for music, poetry, and literature throughout his seven decades. John was a gentle, warm, and loving soul. Brother to MaryvLew McQuaid (husband William) and Judy Bussolini. He is survived by his only child, Luke Edward Taylor (wife JoAnna), and his two grandchildren; Lillian and Penelope Taylor, of Virginia Beach, VA. He is lovingly remembered by his closest friends: Franklin, Marie and Scott Marzullo, Walter Short, Joseph Kuntz, and David Sanborn. John's final wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes spread in a quiet corner of the farm he loved. A memorial service for him will be planned at a later date.
