SMITHFIELD, 25 August – Mrs. Lizzie Estelle Turner, 78, died tonight at her home on Cary Street after a short illness. A lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, she was a member of the Central Hill Baptist Church and the W.B.A. of Zuni, and a daughter of Mrs. Celia Presson and Mathew Turner.  

She is survived by her husband, Frank B. Turner; three daughters, Mrs. Willie Pittman of Ivor, Mrs. Thomas of Sedley, and Mrs. Woodrow Lonberger of Smithfield; three sons, Fletcher Turner of Ivor, George W. Turner of Sedley, and an unknown son of Smithfield; a brother, S.R.J. Turner of Zuni; grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Central Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from Bullock Funeral Home to the church an hour before services.
