Linda Turner Obituary Linda Hayes Turner nee Archer was born February 16th, 1941, in Portsmouth, VA. She left this world on May 11th, 2023. Linda graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1960 and attended Kee Business College. She was raised in Portsmouth and later moved to Carrollton and then to Smithfield. With over 30 years in banking in Smithfield, she was well known in the community for her fuchsia nail polish and lipstick. She worked for Bank of Smithfield, Dominion Bank, Bank of Isle of Wight and Farmer's Bank. She stood out among other women with her humor, style and caring nature. She loved to be creative - decorating, sewing, crafts and gardening were hobbies for her. As an avid lover of Westerns and classic movies, she counted Gone With The Wind as her favorite movie and John Wayne as her favorite actor. She also loved collecting angels and movie memorabilia. Linda loved connecting with family and friends she had known for years. Her departed parents were Kenneth Nash Archer, Sr. and Florence "Odie" Leota Archer, nee Hayes. She cared for and put up with her father in his final years. The surviving family includes her daughter, Charie Nash Wells and three grandchildren, Johnnie Nash Gray, Dustin Lee Wells and Christin Hayes Wells. She also has two great grandchildren, Jacob Maximus Taylor and Libbi Monroe Wells. Her brother, "Kenny" Kenneth Nash Archer, Jr. and children, Mark Archer and Stephanie Gaiani also survive her passing. Twice married, she survived both husbands. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Northern Cardinal Rehabilitation and Nursing (Suffolk) staff for their expert care.
