He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Cleary Turner; a daughter, Audrey T. Wiley of Suffolk; two sons, Ray L. Turner Jr. of Halifax and Floyd W. Turner of Suffolk; a sister, Edith T. Ellis of Suffolk; two brothers, James O. Turner of Suffolk and Fenton Turner of Ahoskie, N.C.; and five grandchildren.
