Obituary of Mills Council Vick JUL 1850 - 3 OCT 1925 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mills Council Vick The body of Mills Council Vick, who died in a local hospital Saturday afternoon [3 Oct 1925], was torwarded morning to Branchville, Va., for funcral services this afternoon at 3 o clock at home of his daugater, Mrs. Joyner. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mille Council Vick Mills Council Vick, of 1903 County street, for 30 years an employe of the Seaboard Air Line Railway, died at 12:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon [3 Oct 1925] at a local hospital, after six weeks illness. He was 61 years old. Mr. Vick was formerly a prominent lumberman of Branchville, Va., whence he removed to Portsmouth about five years ago. He was member of the Masonic louge at Boykins, Va. His body was removed to the funeral home of Charles H. Myers, 720 Court street, and was sent ny Seaboard Air Line train this morning to Branchville. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon [5 Oct 1925] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Joyner. Mr. Vick is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jeanette Joyner Vick; two sons, Robert Lee, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Owen D., of Portmouth; a daughter, Mrs. Joyner, of Branchville; a brother, B. D. Vick, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Marion Davis and Mrs. Samuel Pope, both of Newsoms, Va.
