Phoebe Villanueva Obituary Phoebe D. Villanueva Suffolk - Phoebe Delenela Villanueva of Suffolk passed into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, October 27, 2017, at age 98. She was born on August 12, 1919 in Paombong, Bulacan, Philippines, the daughter of Abdon Delenela and Toribia Diestro. She had only one son, Lt. Commander Ireneo Villanueva, Jr., U. S. Coast Guard (Ret) of Virginia Beach, four living daughters, Fely Zarate, Elenita Eustaquio both of whom live in the Philippines, and Violeta Bramlett and Helen Jamias of Suffolk, and two deceased daughters, Esther Garcia and Carmelita Gelilio. She was blessed with 7 children, 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She had 6 siblings: Elizabeth Legaspi of Florida, Rebecca Torres and Consuelo Rasjid both living in the Philippines, and three deceased siblings, Priscilla Comilang, Rodolfo Delenela, and Abraham Delenela. Phoebe loved Jesus with all her heart and could be heard singing to Him throughout the days. She was small of physical stature but strong in the Spirit, a continuous testimony to those around her. She survived the Japanese occupation in the Philippines during World War II as well as serious physical challenges during most of her life, including being a cancer survivor, and more recently Dementia/AD. She was a sweet, loving, caring, nurturing Mother, a woman of quiet strength and truly a warrior for the Lord. She was love to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her beloved family and friends. A graveside service will be held Friday November 3, 2017 10 AM at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens 4569 Shoulders Hill Rd Suffolk, VA.
