Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Louis B. Thompson and Evelyn Mosley Thompson. She was also predeceased by her husband, William Eugene "Gene" Williams and one sister, Judith T. Heath. Glenda was a graduate of Windsor High School and a retired realtor for Scott and Associates. She was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra W. Smith (Paul) of Clinton, NC and Rachel W. Smith (Jimmy Drake) of Franklin; two sons, Andrew B. Cambron (JoAnne) of Hendersonville, NC and Michael B. Williams (Charity) of Valdese, NC; a sister, Gail T. Stradley of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Michael Atkins, Jr., Suzanne Smith, Victoria Brogdon (Jake), Michaela Bowman (Patrick), and Elijah Williams; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 9, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church.
